Cancellation of Severe Weather Warning

For people in Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands and Southern Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Issued at 4:52 pm Friday, 3 July 2026.

Winds have eased below warning thresholds.

Weather Situation: Gusty westerly winds will continue into the evening over higher terrain in the Southern Highlands and south coastal ranges, but are no longer expected to be severe.

This warning is now cancelled.

93 km/h wind gust observed at Shellharbour Airport 1:43 pm.

91 km/h wind gust was observed at Nowra at 1:22 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
