Cancellation of Severe Weather Warning

For people in King Island, Furneaux Islands, Western, North East, North West Coast and Central North Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds have eased throughout the state

Weather Situation: The last of a series of troughs is currently clearing the northeast with winds easing in its wake.

This warning is now cancelled.

128 KM/H WIND GUST WAS OBSERVED AT MOUNT READ AT 2:42 PM.

137 KM/H WIND GUST WAS OBSERVED AT HARTZ MOUNTAIN AT 7:01 AM.

163 KM/H WIND GUST WAS OBSERVED AT MAATSUYKER ISLAND AT 6:14 AM.

139 KM/H WIND GUST WAS OBSERVED AT SCOTTS PEAK DAM AT 5:51 AM.

119 km/h wind gust was observed at Kunanyi (Mount Wellington) at 5:20 pm.

107 km/h wind gust was observed at Low Head at 3:14 pm.

117 km/h wind gust was observed at Cape Grim at 2:51 pm.

120 km/h wind gust was observed at Tasman Island at 10:43 am.

113 km/h wind gust was observed at Low Rocky Point at 6:09 am.

Sustained 85 km/h winds were observed at Low Rocky Point at 6:00 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
