Cancellation of Severe Thunderstorm Warning

For people in Lower West, South West and Great Southern districts.

Issued at 5:00 pm Monday, 8 June 2026.

Heavy rainfall has eased for areas south of Perth.

This warning is now cancelled. Heavy rainfall is still possible this afternoon and evening about areas of the Central West district. A new severe thunderstorm warning will be issued should showers of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall be detected.

40.4 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT DINGO ROAD, EAST OF HARVEY, IN THE 1 HOUR TO 2:30 PM.

30.4 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT SANDY ROAD, EAST OF HARVEY, IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 2:40 PM.

28.2 mm of rainfall was recorded at Quaelup in the 30 minutes to 1:34 pm.

25.2 mm of rainfall was recorded at Balingup in the 1 hour to 12:20 pm.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
* Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
* Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.
* Assess your home, car and property for damage.
* If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
* If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.
