Cancellation of Severe Weather Warning

For people in South West district.

Issued at 7:19 am Saturday, 27 June 2026.

The risk of damaging winds about the southwest coast has now eased.

Weather Situation: A low pressure system is situated south of the Albany coast and is slowly moving further away from the state and into Bight. Gusty showers may persist about parts of the west and southwest coast throughout the remainder of today, but they are no longer expected to be severe.

This warning is now cancelled.

98 km/h wind gust was observed at Cape Naturaliste at 4:08 am.

109 km/h wind gust was observed at Cape Leeuwin at 2:18 am.

96 km/h wind gust was observed at Busselton Jetty at 1:41 am.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
* Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
* Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.;
* Assess your home, car and property for damage.;
* If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
* If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
