Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for DAMAGING WINDS

For people in Riverland and parts of Murraylands, Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and North East Pastoral districts.

Issued at 12:34 pm Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

Severe thunderstorms are developing about eastern districts of the state this afternoon.

Weather Situation: A strong cold front and surface trough is producing thunderstorms through eastern SA today.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Murray Bridge, Waikerie, Karoonda, Blanchetown, Mannum and Tailem Bend.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.

The next warning is due to be issued by 3:35 pm.

If severe thunderstorms develop in the Adelaide Region, a more Detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued to people in this area. Other warnings may be current.
