Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for DAMAGING WINDS

For people in Riverland, Murraylands and parts of Upper South East and North East Pastoral districts.

Issued at 1:36 pm Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

Severe thunderstorms are occurring about eastern districts this afternoon.

Weather Situation: A strong cold front is producing thunderstorms through eastern SA this afternoon. These thunderstorms will be fast-moving towards the east.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Renmark, Lameroo, Waikerie, Karoonda, Loxton and Berri.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.

The next warning is due to be issued by 4:40 pm.
