Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for HEAVY RAINFALL

For people in parts of Mount Lofty Ranges, Murraylands and Upper South East districts.

Issued at 4:48 pm Sunday, 9 August 2026.

Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms possible.

Weather Situation: Bands of showers and thunderstorms may result in areas of heavy rainfall extending from the Murraylands district through to parts of the southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Murray Bridge, Victor Harbor, Mannum and Tailem Bend.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mid North and Riverland districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.

The next warning is due to be issued by 7:50 pm.

If severe thunderstorms develop in the Adelaide Region, a more Detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued to people in this area. Other warnings may be current.
