Initial Minor Flood Warning for the Thomson River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COWWARR WEIR (UPSTREAM)

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded over the Thomson River catchment since Thursday evening, causing river and creek rises. Minor flooding is occurring at Cowwarr Weir (Upstream).

A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for West and South Gippsland and parts of South West, Central and East Gippsland Forecast Districts.

A Flood Watch is current for parts of Gippsland, North East, Central, South West and North West Victoria.

Safety advice

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
