Moderate rainfall since Monday has caused significant river level rises and areas of flooding across the Ovens and King River catchments. Showers are forecast to continue through Friday, then ease over the weekend.
River levels along the King River at Docker Road Bridge are currently peaking near the major flood level.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Ovens River at Wangaratta, with moderate flooding likely from late Friday afternoon.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo. Minor flooding is occurring along the King River downstream of Lake William Hovell and along the Ovens River at Bright, Eurobin and Rocky Point.
